ICYMI: Nearly every state in the US has seen a rise in COVID cases and over 1,000 Americans on average are losing their battle to COVID everyday.
I’m not here to get you worked up, make you feel anxious, or to shame anyone into taking this seriously. Instead, I’d like to discuss a few ways that we can help slow the spread together and protect our mental health while doing so.
If you’re confused about what you should be doing when it comes to COVID, here’s a great place to start:
- Limit social gatherings, yes, even for Thanksgiving.
- Wear your mask - they protect your loved ones AND they protect you.
- Stay 6 feet away from others.
- Wash your hands after any interaction or public outing.
- Stay home when you’re feeling sick.
- Remember, you can have and spread COVID even if you’re not showing symptoms.
Traveling? If you have to travel at some point over the next few weeks, stay vigilant. Take state to state quarantine measures seriously and mask up to protect yourself and your loved ones. Each state has different protocols so be sure to check them out before you go.
Protect your mental health. Turn off the 24 hour news cycle and unfollow any accounts that may cause you stress related to COVID. This doesn't mean that you shouldn't stay informed, it just means that this news does not have to consume you.
I know my COVID rules may be stricter than some and not nearly good enough for others. I’m not perfect when it comes to COVID precautions and I’m not asking you to be either. What I am asking is that you do your best.
Below, you’ll find a list of resources to help keep you safe and informed over the next few weeks.
