This past Wednesday, we launched FREE registration for the City Fit Girls Harvest Run, a virtual 5K and 10-Mile race taking place this October.
Although many of you have already signed up, we’ve also learned from your messages that some of you don’t feel confident in your abilities to run a 5K (3.1 miles) or 10-miles.
“I don’t think I can do this”
“I’m not a good runner”
“There’s no way I can do this by October”
Your feelings and fears are valid. Running is hard, especially if you’ve never done it before or if you took some time away. But here’s the thing, if this is something you WANT to try, you CAN run a 5K or 10-miles - but you have to be willing to commit to the process.
We’ll be the first to tell you, running isn’t for everyone. If you tried and don’t like it or have no interest in it, we’re not here to convince you, especially when there are so many other great ways to be physically active.
But , if you’re on the fence and fear or lack of confidence is holding you back, it’s time to bet on yourself. We’re over 10 weeks out from race weekend and you’ll have plenty of time to prepare for a 5K or 10-mile run. Our friends at Hoka One One are helping us put together some fun training runs leading up to race weekend so you won’t be in this alone.
We made registration for the Harvest Run free because we wanted to give everyone a chance to give it a try. If you’d like to upgrade your registration to include a digital training guide and t-shirt, you’ll take the guess work out of your training and feel more confident knowing you can make it across the virtual “finish line”.
If you need a training plan and would like a shirt but can’t afford one, you have the chance to upgrade your registration - at no cost when you fill out this form.
So , if you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to have you participate. Since registration is free, we encourage you to spread the word to your friends, partners and other family members so they can get in on the fun, too.
We’re looking forward to training and running “with you” this fall!
