Happy Holidays, Strides Community!
"Make this a year of finding fulfillment, joy, peace, and purpose.” - Anonymous
Hey ,
This is the time of year when newsletters share their most clicked stories, etc. However, we want to do something different and celebrate the milestones we've made together thanks to you. Here's what we've been up to:
- Rebranded from City Fit Girls to Strides. Although the name has changed, the goal is still the same as it was when we launched in 2013 - to make physical activity more accessible no matter your race, pace, age, body type, sexual orientation, gender assigned at birth, or income level.
- Participated in the Well City Challenge and your votes and support helped us make it to the FINAL round of 5, down from over 100 submissions!
- We have been in your inbox every Monday morning (except for holidays) 🤯!
- You reached incredible fitness milestones - running 5Ks and 8Ks with our free training plans.
- Strength Club members have collectively lifted about 1 MILLION lbs this year!
Whether you are new here or have been with us for years, thank you. We see every reflection message from you in email and on social media, and we can't help but be in awe at the community you helped cultivate and grow.
This past weekend, I hosted a candle exchange with a few friends and everyone shared their wish for the person who chose their candle. The responses were so beautiful, Takia and I wanted to share them with you in hopes that they inspire and energize you into the new year! Here are some of the themes that were shared:
- Take time for yourself. Embrace ease but also bring ease to other people.
- Do the hard things. Do the hard thing you've been putting off: Leave that job, relationship, or unhealthy habit behind; Sign up for that big race, etc.
- Celebrate your success. Far too often we spend more time on negative experiences than positive ones. Sit with - and celebrate - yourself when you do good, too.
- Embrace your support system. Who supported you this year when you needed it most? Also, you are allowed to add (or subtract) from your support system as you evolve and navigate life.
- Fall in love. No, not just romantically. Fall in love with your hobbies, with your family, and whatever else brings you joy, peace and happiness.
, is there a wish you'd like to share for yourself or others in the Strides community? Reply to this email to let us know!
We are taking a much needed break so this is the last newsletter of 2021. We've been working on a very exciting partnership that we'll announce in the new year so stay tuned.
Takia and I wish you a very fulfilling holiday season and look forward to seeing what we do together in the new year! We will be back in your inbox on Monday, January 3rd.

If you're gearing up for the week, but not sure what to add to your menu, here are a few ideas:
Also, since we won't be in your inbox next Monday, don't forget your black eyed peas and greens for New Year's Eve.
